What are munchies? From Urban Dictionary, munchies mean the compelling and intense feeling of hunger after smoking. You might want to dive deep into what causes the hunger. But as 420's coming, I would say the best practice is don't ask why get ready and enjoy the ride! For this 4/20, I want to share my recipe for my favourite munchies. This list contains sweets, snacks and soul food that I crave most often after smoking.
This list of the best munchies for cannabis is curated, beginning with own story, servings, and dosage of each recipe. This list starts with a twist of snacks normally available at the grocery store and evolves to elaborate goodies that will have you craving them immediately.
Pot Brownies
Thanks to Peter Sellers movie "I Love You, Alice B. Toklas" in 1968, the pot brownie became popular and famouse. In one of the film's pivotal scene, Nancy, a beautiful hippie, dumps her cannabis stash into the bowl of an mixture along with milk, eggs and a box of fudge brownie mix. The iconic weed brownie became popular for two reasons: They whip up in a snap, and chocolate makes everything taste good. This recipe calls for cashews to complement the earthy moisture from the cannabutter, giving it a soft crunch.

What you will need:
1 (18-ounce) box brownie mix
Three eggs
2 cups milk
Two heaping tablespoons of sour cream
Four teaspoons cannabutter

1/2 cup cashews or nuts of choice, optional
Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Take the ingredients out and add the dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl.
Slowly add the eggs, milk, sour cream, and cannabutter to another bowl.
If using nuts, blend them in a food processor for 2 seconds and sprinkle them into the brownie mix. Gently fold in the nuts and cocoa nibs or chocolate chips.
On a 9 x 9-inch square baking pan, fill it until about 1/3 full.
Place the brownies onto the oven and bake for 30 minutes. Test the brownie's doneness by inserting a fork. Check the fork if it comes out clean. They can be refrigerated for one week or frozen for one month.
Mixed Berry Smoothie
This mixed berry smoothie is simply made out of frozen berries, banana, yoghurt, liquid of your choice, and sweetener if you desire. I always have a few bags from Trader Joe's in the freezer when my smoothie craving strikes. This fantastic mixture is not only healthy and refreshing but also energizing. Start your day with this sweet and potent cannabis smoothie, you can't get any better than this. You might want to get creative with your smoothie by adding extras like chia seeds or almond flakes.

Crunchy Canna Cobbler
Canna cobbler is the perfect dessert to make when you want something that looks nice for gatherings but don't want it to be very complicated. This southern dish is sweet, flakey, and everything you'd expect from a munchies. It's delicious even fresh out of the oven, with icing or not, or you might want to served cold, and it keeps pretty well in the freezer so that you can prepare in advance of any occasion.

In a large mixing bowl, mix the brown sugar, apple, a pinch of salt, and cinnamon with a wooden spoon until apples are evenly coated. In another bowl, add flour, a pinch of salt, baking powder, the remaining sugar, eggs, and melted butter until the mixture is moist yet thick and even.
Grease a glass baking dish. Layer with apples, then cover evenly with the crust. Sometimes I like to layer a few slices of apples on the top.
Bake for 45 mins or until crispy and brown. Serve hot with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
Cheesy Cannabutter Spinach Frittata
Frittata is an Italian egg-based dish typically served up fresh for breakfast. Well normally frittatas are made on the stove, but my recipes use the stove instead to cut down the steps. This recipe requires no flipping or folding; this type of open-faced omelette is the perfect breakfast for gatherings. It's thick, healthy, delicious, and fuel of ideas for mornings. Though frittata is normally served as breakfast, it can be altered or kept just the way it is and turned into a snack or meal for any time of the day.
Time: 25 minutes
Potency per serving: 3 mg
Five servings
What you will need:
Half medium onion, diced
Two cloves of garlic, minced
Two tablespoons of olive oil
1 cup spinach or other leafy greens
Five eggs
Half cup milk, dairy or nondairy
One small tomato, sliced
One teaspoon cannabutter or cannabis-infused olive oil
Half cup grated melting cheese
Salt and black pepper to taste
Preparation:
In a medium pan over medium heat, sauté the onion and garlic in olive oil for 5 minutes, letting them cook until transparent, and your kitchen smells like heaven.
Add cannabutter or cannabis-infused olive oil, spinach, or other green leafy vegetables and cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
Whisk the eggs with milk and pour evenly over the veggies.
Spread the cheese over the eggs like a pizza, placing the sliced tomatoes similarly.
Cover the eggs with a lid or plate for 5 to 10 minutes on low heat or longer if you like your eggs extra crispy at the bottom. The eggs will puff up, signifying that they're done.
Remove the lid, slice it into six slices, and enjoy!
Simple Stoney Hash Browns
Everyone loves hash browns, but not everyone knows how easy they are to make. This hash brown is the ultimate edibles comfort food. It is cheesy and warm and will get you so comfy. It's an easy gluten-free recipe that is made with cannabutter. This pancake will permanently elevate your morning to a whole new level. Hash browns are the staple comfort breakfast food. Luckily, because these are dosed with cannabis, you might only have them on those slow and lazy mornings.
Time: 30 minutes
Potency per serving: 25 mg
Two servings
What you will need:
One pound (about three large) of potatoes
Three tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
One teaspoon of cannabis-infused olive oil or cannabutter
salt and black pepper, to taste
Preparation:
Shred the potatoes with a cheese grater. Be careful with your fingers. The bigger the potatoes you use, the better. Once grated, season with salt and pepper to taste.
Add the olive oil and cannabis-infused olive oil or cannabutter to a medium pan or skillet over medium heat.
Add the shredded potatoes evenly and let them cook until you see the bottom become crisp, about 8 minutes.
Flip with a spatula. (The skillet should be greasy enough to do a pan flip if you wanted—trust me!)
Let it cook for about 5 minutes until the hash browns have reached the preferred crispiness.
Fluffy Blueberry Pancakes
Cannabis in pancakes? Yes! These fluffy, buttery pancakes will be a morning game changer. One of the most overlooked munchies is weed pancakes. Medicated pancakes are quick, easy, and perfect for someone trying out new edibles. I use blueberry sauce, which is a great choice to balance the earthiness of cannabis. These are not everyday pancakes, so save them for special days with friends. Or the pancakes can your treat after a long week of work. Try them, and you'll see what I'm talking about.
Time: 30 minutes
Potency per serving: 5 mg per pancake
12 pancakes
What you will need:
2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup sugar
One teaspoon salt
One teaspoon of butter, plus more for greasing
Two teaspoons of cannabutter or cannabis-infused canola oil
Four eggs
2 cups cream or yoghurt
2 cups fresh blueberries
Preparation:
Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt in a medium bowl.
In a small saucepan, melt one teaspoon of unsalted butter with cannabutter over low heat until mixed. Remember not to let them boil.
Add the melted butter to the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.
Add the eggs and cream and whisk gently until the mixture is free of clumps. The batter should be creamy, not watery.
Add blueberries and gently mix, being sure not to crush them.
Place a large skillet over medium heat and grease with a generous amount of butter so the pancakes cook without sticking.
Using an ice cream scoop with a spout, pour out your disks of pancakes. They should be 2 to 3 inches in diameter.
Cook until you see small bubbles/holes, about 2 minutes, then flip. Cook for another 2 minutes. Continue until the batter is done.
To make the blueberry sauce, mix the remaining blueberries with water and heat in a saucepan until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes. Serve hot.
